It aims to inspire curiosity in Australians who want to know more about their past and discover weird, wild and wonderful family history – and has been running for years since launch.

Once users find their family stories through Ancestry, they’re left with a summary that doesn’t do their history justice. So we created a digital idea called ‘Past Portraits’ that uses data visualisation to transform their discoveries into a unique piece of artwork.
